Feb 19, 2013 Rosie Update
As you can imagine, I’ve been pretty worried all weekend so I am happy to report that Dr. Lupo found no sign of infection when he changed her bandage today!!!
She did tear a stitch but that section is healing and the tissue is healthy. She had a laser therapy session and will remain on antibiotics. Although she is healing, she is doing it so very slowly in comparison with another animal. Rosie is Rosie and she is doing things her way I guess.
I confessed to Dr. Lupo and I confess to you that she scares me. I’ve nursed animals through distemper, CHF, and other serious illnesses over the years. I’ve approached the situation with those animals very aggressively, trying everything available in the traditional and holistic/homeopathic worlds. BUT with Rosie…she is so different, it isn’t just a case of her immune system, or her digestive tract, or her bone configuration; everything about her is different and I’m terrified to do something that worked for another dog and have it harm her since she is so unusual.
Having said that, there are a few supplements I am going to add to her regimen and once her ankle is healed, we will have her pancreatic function tested and see what happens.
In the meantime, let’s keep visualizing Rosie healthy and able to finally have a birthday celebration soon!
Thanks!
